The Jenks Trojan Swim Club offers training and
practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is
the goal of the Jenks Trojan Swim Club to
offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards
challenging each individual and developing each individual to the
best of THEIR abilities.

Novice
To enter this level a swimmer must have an evaluation in the
pool.
·
They must be able to swim one-length freestyle demonstrating some
rhythmic breathing.
·
Must be able to swim one pool length of backstroke. Attempt the
kicks of all four strokes.
Novice is offered Monday through Friday, three days out of the
week. They can choose to come on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
or on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Age Group
To advance to Age Group from Novice, a swimmer must perform the
following skills, as well as meet the following
criteria:

Demonstrates listening skills on a consistent basis.
·
Demonstrates limited use of a pace clock.
·
Must understand circle swimming and leaving on 5 or 10 second
intervals.
·
Consistent attendance weekly. 3 days per week is
recommended.
Complete a test workout:
a. 2 x 50 free 30 second rest
b. 2 x 50 back 30 seconds rest
c. 50 of each stroke/ drill 30 seconds rest
d. 4 x 50 kick (one each stroke)
e. Complete in Park and Rec Meets.
Must perform Basic Body Balance front-back-sweet spot-body
dolphins.
Advanced Age Group
For an Age Group swimmer to advance to Advanced Age Group, a
swimmer must swim:
A. 5 x 100 Free 1:50
B. Kick 8 x 50 Two each stroke on 1:20 legal
C. 3 x 200 IM on 4:00 with legal strokes and turns
D. 1 x 500 for time

Must demonstrate regular attendance habits, four (4) days per week
are recommended at this level.
·
Have at least 3 "B" times.
·
Be at least in 5th grade and 10 years old.
·
Be able to use pace clock for all send offs and begin to get times
from clock.
·
Attendance at USA meets strongly recommended.
·
Practice habits: use of turns, stopping, restrooms breaks, effort,
etc.
·
Demonstrates self-discipline, leadership, and care of
equipment.
Senior
For advanced age group swimmer to advance to senior, a swimmer must
swim:
A. 8 x 100 free on 1:20 *90 seconds to 2 minutes
between sets
B. 6 x 100 back on 1:40
C. 3 x 400 IM on 7:15
D. 4 x 100 Fly on 1:40
E. 4 x 100 breast on 1:50
·
Demonstrates regular attendance at meets.
·
Four work outs a week will be accepted.
·
Understand and demonstrate the knowledge of TEAM
concept.
·
Must be 13 years old or have sectional times.
·
Practice habits will play a major role: turns-stopping-bathroom
breaks-effort, etc.
